Sensory Processing Sensitivity and Alcohol Use

We are continuously learning about sensitivity and our well-being through research. Below is a link to a research study by a highly sensitive doctoral candidate, Kimberli Poppe-Smart, who seeks to learn whether there is any correlation between three commonly referenced subscales of the Highly Sensitive Person Scale and coping-motivated alcohol use. You can participate in the anonymous online survey and can expect this survey to take up to 20 minutes.

Hello. I am a doctoral learner under the direction of Professor Edward Ofori in the College of Doctoral Studies at Grand Canyon University. My name is Kimberli Poppe-Smart. I am conducting a research study to evaluate the relationship between the sensitive personality trait and alcohol use.

 INCLUSION- I am recruiting individuals that meet these criteria:

  • 21 years old or older,

  • live in the U.S., and

  • drank alcohol in the recent 30 days

EXCLUSION- You cannot be in this study if you:

  • are not 21 years old or older,

  • do not live in the U.S., and

  • did not drink alcohol in the recent 30 days

The ACTIVITIES for this research project will include:

  • Questionnaire (6-20 minutes) via a survey link on your computer or phone.

Your participation in this study is voluntary.

All data in this study will be protected by being stored on a password-protected device. No personal identifying information will be collected.
