Professional & Organizational Neurodiversity-Affirming Consultations

I offer focused consultation for therapists, mental health and medical professionals, other helping professionals, teams, and organizations seeking greater understanding of neurodivergence and neurodiversity-affirming support.

My areas of particular expertise include late-discovered autism and AuDHD, high-masking and internalized presentations, high sensitivity, sensory and nervous-system differences, burnout, overwhelm, and capacity.

Consultation may focus on a particular client or patient, recurring patterns in professional work, supporting neurodivergent employees or teams, accessibility and communication, or broader professional and organizational questions.

Consultation topics may include:

  • Understanding neurodivergent presentations and support needs
  • Recognizing internalized, less visible, and high-masking autistic presentations
  • Autism, ADHD, AuDHD, and overlapping patterns
  • Neurodiversity-affirming clinical and professional support
  • Sensory needs, communication, executive functioning, and accessibility
  • Burnout, overwhelm, masking, capacity, and sustainable support
  • Supporting neurodivergent employees and teams
  • Creating more neurodiversity-affirming environments
  • Specific clinical, workplace, professional, or organizational questions

Choose 50 minutes for focused consultation or 75 minutes for more complex situations, multiple questions, or deeper exploration.

Consultations are available in 50- and 75-minute options and are designed for focused guidance, education, and support rather than ongoing psychotherapy or long-term consulting.

Why Consult with Julie?

Julie Bjelland, LMFT, is a licensed psychotherapist specializing in neurodiversity-affirming support, with particular expertise in late-discovered autism and AuDHD (both autism and ADHD), high sensitivity, and high-masking, internalized, and often overlooked presentations.

Her work focuses on the internal experience of neurodivergence, including masking, sensory and nervous-system patterns, communication, relationships, burnout, overwhelm, capacity, and the ways neurodivergence may be missed when someone has spent years adapting to the expectations around them.

Julie is the author of the forthcoming W. W. Norton professional book Autistic Women: A Clinician’s Guide to Neurodiversity-Affirming Identification and Support, written to help clinicians better recognize, understand, and support autistic women whose presentations have historically been overlooked.

She also provides neurodiversity-affirming Adult Autism Assessments, with particular attention to internal experiences, masking, sensory patterns, developmental history, and presentations that may be missed by more traditional approaches.
