Interested in Guest Hosting?
Thank you for your interest in being a guest host on The Sensitive & Neurodivergent Podcast. We love featuring highly sensitive and neurodivergent voices, stories, wisdom, and lived experiences.
We are proud that the podcast has reached listeners around the world and continues to offer support, validation, and connection to sensitive and neurodivergent people everywhere.
How Guest Hosting Works
We often record podcast episodes live inside the Sensitive and Neurodivergent Community. This allows us to create a deeper sense of connection with our guest hosts and gives community members the opportunity to learn, reflect, and feel supported in real time.
These live recordings bring a warm, relational quality to the podcast. The experience of connecting, sharing, and learning together is part of what makes these episodes so meaningful.
Guest Host Requirements
To be considered as a guest host:
You must be highly sensitive or neurodivergent yourself.
We like to get to know you a bit so we ask you to be a current member of the Heart-Centered Business group inside the Sensitive and Neurodivergent Community for at least 3 consecutive months, or have pre-approval from Julie Bjelland.
Your topic must be aligned with the mission of the podcast and supportive of sensitive and neurodivergent listeners.
Your title and description must be approved by Julie before scheduling.
Approval and Scheduling Process
Please submit your proposed podcast title and description for review.
Once your topic is approved, email Kia, Julie’s assistant, to discuss scheduling.
Please provide the name and title you would like included on the podcast graphic.
Please check in with Kia one week before your event, and again 24 hours before, to finalize links and discuss any possible changes.
Details About Live Recordings
Most guest-hosted episodes are recorded live inside the Sensitive and Neurodivergent Community. You may host your own event, or someone from the community may interview you.
After the recording, Julie Bjelland will determine whether the recording is the right fit for the podcast. Only recordings with good audio quality will be considered.
We do not edit live recordings. The natural, relational quality of these conversations is part of what we love about recording inside the community. However, if your recording needs editing for any reason, you may send us an edited version to consider for the podcast.
Recordings added to the podcast should not include audience voices or images. For example, if the audience was not muted during the recording, we ask that you edit out those portions and send us the edited version.
Some video recordings may also be added to our Community Guest Events Library, where members can discover and benefit from them for years.
Optional Pre-Recorded Guest Segment
In some cases, we may consider a pre-recorded audio or video segment instead of a live community recording. This option is best suited for guest hosts who have an established audience, plan to actively share the episode with their community, and offer a topic that is a strong fit for sensitive and neurodivergent listeners.
Pre-recorded submissions must have clear audio, be fully edited, and be ready to share as-is. Julie will review the submission and determine whether it is a good fit for the podcast or community library.
If a pre-recorded segment is selected for the podcast, Julie will record a brief introduction and closing to help orient listeners and connect the episode to the mission of The Sensitive & Neurodivergent Podcast.
Submitting a pre-recorded segment does not guarantee placement on the podcast or in the community library.
Preparing for Your Event
Please read the event preparation document before your recording. This will help you create the best possible experience for listeners, community members, and yourself.
The preparation document includes guidance for audio quality, recording setup, nervous system support, and creating a grounded and welcoming experience for attendees.
If You Want Your Recording Shared in the Community Guest Events Library
Please share your video recording with Kia so we can add it to the Guest Events Library inside the community. We ask that the replay be hosted within the community site rather than directing members off-site to watch.
You may also share the chat text if you are comfortable with that. We often include the chat below the video in the Guest Events Library. Please remove any private messages, email addresses, or personal information before sending the chat text so we can copy and paste it safely.
