Sensory Products to Promote Sleep & Relaxation

Great for sleep and reducing stress and anxiety

  • A weighted blanket. I LOVE mine so much! I have several. They are good for sleep and anxiety! Scientific research has shown the weight in the blanket creates a surge of feel-good hormones, like oxytocin. They decrease cortisol, a stress hormone, and increase serotonin and dopamine — two neurotransmitters that boost our mood, creating a calm, peaceful feeling that reduces insomnia.

  • Mattress: click here to see my favorite with this mattress topper and this organic mattress pad protector. This bed is amazing! 1-year free trial, 25-year warranty, it’s organic, carbon negative, made in California, award-winning, recommended by a posture movement specialist and my back doesn’t hurt anymore!

  • These pillows have an adjustable fill so you can pick the thickness! They are from the same mattress company.

  • My favorite soft sheets are Oprah’s favorite too. These sheets are SO soft and feel SO good sensory-wise! Every single night I love these sheets and feel a such a sensory pleasant feeling. I’ve heard from lots of HSPs who are sensitive to materials love these too. They also have these wonderful soft material lounge clothes that I LOVE too. I’ve had my sheets and clothes for a few years now washing regularly and they are still soft so that makes it worth it to me.

  • Cotton sleep mask (like this). I like that these feel soft on my face. Sleeping in a dark room, or being able to have a light sensory break can be beneficial for HSPs.

  • Lavender Essential Oils like these can be added to lotions, on even a little on your pillow. Many HSPs find it helps them sleep. I also enjoy Eucalyptus in my bath and peppermint oil for headaches.

  • My favorite Mack earplugs. I’ve used these for years and prefer them over any other. Many HSPs report foam earplugs hurting the ears with regular use (I agree) so using these silicone ones long-term feel better. I also like that you can decide how much sound to block out and mold them to the shape of your ear.
